Early morning walks in September are tinged with blue. The air is damp, and wet and a little bit misty. Almost blurred around the edges with grey and bright blue. And looking across the lake this morning the trees were dark, and the water was still. Yet everything shimmered softly, with slow, and imperceptible movement. The misty air settling and shifting. And blue descending and rising from the water.
Me and Ted.
Just like the old days.
Only with added sunshine.
Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Taking it slow with Ted is just TOO slow…
Walking. Not running.
And seeing things today that I usually miss. Going slower is good. You see more. And you get time to look. And resting a sore foot means I may get to run tomorrow.
The first run in ages with Ted. And it was nice. Slow, and with lots of sniff stops. But nice.
Twinkly pavements and dogs will be dogs…
A light dusting of snow greeted us this morning as we set off. Ted was even more stop-and-sniff than usual. So an ‘Easy 4 Miles’ turned into an Easy Peasy with lots of waiting for labradors 4 miles. But the pavements were beautiful and twinkly. Like running over glitter.
